Step 3: Wrap around your gift and tape in place between both layers.
Step 4: On the side without the extra layer hanging out, crease in the edges then fold them down.
Step 5: Tuck the edges in then fold over and tape down.
Step 6: Repeat the same steps on the other side.
Step 7: Tie around some ribbon and you're done!

Today we're going to be making an origami wreath decoration.
Materials you need for this are:
Step 1: Fold you paper in half vertically, unfold then fold it in half horizontally and unfold.
Step 2: Now fold it into quarters both ways and unfold.
Step 3: Flip the paper around and fold it diagonally both ways then unfold.
Step 4: Begin to fold the four corners in creating a diamond shape in the middle.
Step 5: Flip the paper over and push in the four corners to flatten the paper into a square shape.
Step 6: The square shape has four square sections on it. For each section, fold in the edges of the top layer to create triangle shapes then unfold them.
Step 7: For one section, lift up the fold you just made and flatten it to the side and fold in the edge.
Step 8: Then fold it back on to itself and tuck in the coloured in section. Then flatten it back to the other side.
Repeat this for all the sections making sure the folds are pointed the same way (in a clockwise motion), then repeat for the other seven sheets of paper.
Step 9: Glue in one of the edges of one paper and tuck it into the other, repeat this until you have a circle and you're done!

Today we're going to be showing you how to make our original design of an origami square flower decoration. We'll be pairing this square flowers with an easy wrap that is great for the times where you don't have any wrapping paper.
Materials you need for this are:
You can watch our video tutorial above to learn how to make the square flower.
Now onto the wrapping. You can read a full length tutorial here on this method of wrapping, or browse below for the short version.
Lay down your paper and gift on top. We've used old sheet music. Grab one of the edges of the paper and wrap it around your gift, making a crease along the edge it covers.
Follow the gift and bring up another side of the wrapping paper. Each time you cover a side crease along the edges to make everything crisp and neat.
Once you get to the final stage of wrapping, you should have an opening in the wrap. Everything you have left over can be inserted into the gap with the use of tape or scissors.
To finish off the gift, we used a strip of paper to wrap around the gift, securing it in place with glue or tape. We then placed two different sizes of our square flower decorations.

]]>Materials you need for this are:
Step 1: Start out by choosing the size of paper you want to wrap around your bottle. For reference, my bottle is 75cl so I decided to use 30x30cm sheets of paper.
This method leaves the top of bottle peaking out, but if you wanted it fully covered pick paper large than the bottle itself.
Step 2: Grab one of your sheets of paper and fold it in half to create a triangle shape.
Step 3: Apply tape at the corner.
Step 4: Align and fold the right side to the corner then unfold.
Step 5: Pleat up until the fold line then repeat on your other sheet of paper.
Step 6: Line up the papers with one slightly overlapping the over and tape them in place.
Step 7: Wrap your paper around the bottle then tape the other sides of the papers together. You don't need to take them to the bottle.
Step 8: Tape around the bottom of the pleats to create a nice fanned out look. To make it neater, you can use double sided tape or glue in between each pleat.
and you're done!

]]>Today we're going to be showing you how to make your very own gift bag!
Materials you need for this are:
We used a creamy textured paper to make our gift bag, you can use any paper you like but we'd recommended going for something heavier than standard printing paper.
Step 1: Mark out the lengths of the front, side, back and another side of the bag, leaving additional space of one extra side - this will be used to glue down your bag. Make a note of how wide the sides is for later.
Step 2: Fold the marks you just made.
Step 3: Fold the extra side down, apply glue or double sided tape then fold the paper in half securing it in place.
Step 4: Measure out the bottom of the bag. To measure out the width, take the measurement for bag sides from earlier, and choose a number between that size to half of that size.
For example, our side measured 5cm, so we should measure a bottom between 2.5-5cm - we chose to do 4cm.
Step 5: Fold the bottom up to create a crease line, bring it back down and tuck in the sides.
Step 6: Fold up the corners in a triangle shape, then unfold them and tuck them in.
Step 7: Fold down one of the flaps, apply glue or tape then fold the second flap on top of the first. Turn the bag upright and flatten out the bottom making sure everything is secure.
Step 8: Now we're going to create the top closing, to do this measure out the same length as the bottom then fold the top in half, and fold it down again.
Step 9: Measure out your string or ribbon then thread it through the fold in the top.
Step 10: From here, you can either choose to create a bow around the bag, or use the string to make a carrier handle.
We also decided to add an origami butterfly for decoration, which you can purchase here.

]]>Today we'll be showing you how to add twisted pleats to your gift wrapping. We've got a video tutorial linked at the bottom if you want to follow on to that, or keep reading for a step by step guide.
Materials you need for this are:
Step 1: Measure out your wrapping paper to fit around your gift, adding on some additional space to one side for your pleating. Make a note of the additional space you added. This can be any size depending on how many pleats you want and how wide you want the spaces in between them. Once measured, fold the paper in half.
Step 2: From the edge of the paper, fold over the additional space. Then begin to create your pleats by fold and unfolding sections. The amount and width can be size you choose.
Step 3: Unfold your paper completely.
Step 4: Begin to fold the pleats back onto themselves.
Step 5: Tape the pleats down on the reverse side to hold them in place. This tape will not be removed later.
Step 6: Flip your paper back over and tape down the pleats close to the left side of your paper, then from the left side to about half way, twist your pleats up.
Step 7: Now tape down the pleats close to the right side and repeat, this time twisting the pleats down. This creates a nice wave effect.
Step 8: Remove the tape from the left and right side and you're done!
Optional Step 9: You can leave the gift as is, or add some extra decorations. We decided to wrap around some thin ribbon and stick on an origami Hydrangea. You can watch a tutorial on how to make that below.

]]>Materials you need for this are:
Step 1: To wrap the gift a little differently, we're wrapping each side of the gift and following the flow of it to create these lovely folds on the outside.
As you go along each side remember to tape it down so it's secure. You also want to make sure the creases along the edges are crisp to give it the best look.
Once you get to the last side you will probably have quite a bit left over, but don't cut it off! Keep following the flow of the gift until there's nothing left and tape it down. This style of wrapping adds a lot of texture and detail very quickly and easily.
Step 2: Now that the gift is wrapped you should measure out two pieces of wide ribbon to wrap around your gift in a cross formation and tape them in place.
Step 3: Cut out and loop three varying sizes of the wide ribbon and tape them on top of each other, starting with the biggest at the bottom, ascending to the smallest.
Step 4: Cut a thin piece of ribbon to wrap around this new bow and tape it at the bottom.

]]>For day three we'll be making a traditional Japanese Kimono style gift wrap.
Materials you need for this are:
Step 1: To measure your wrapping paper for the gift, it needs to be able to wrap around the gift vertically, and be three times the length horizontally.
Step 2: Wrap about a third of the gifts width and crease along the sides.
Step 3: Tuck in the sides and make a crease along the triangles.
Step 4: Fold the flaps on to your item and secure with tape.
Step 5: Fold the bigger flaps on top and tape. You may have excess paper here at the bottom which you'll need to cut off.
Step 6: After trimming any spare paper it should look like this, make sure all the flaps are secured in place.
Step 7: Tie a ribbon around the gift and you're done!
