CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING - DAY 12 - ORIGAMI SQUARE FLOWER DECORATION
Today we're going to be showing you how to make our original design of an origami square flower decoration. We'll be pairing this square flowers with an easy wrap that is great for the times where you don't have any wrapping paper.
Materials you need for this are:
- Any sort of paper - you can use magazines, newspaper or wrapping paper
- Square paper for the flowers
- Spare paper strips for decoration
- Glue or tape for the decorations
You can watch our video tutorial above to learn how to make the square flower.
Now onto the wrapping. You can read a full length tutorial here on this method of wrapping, or browse below for the short version.
Lay down your paper and gift on top. We've used old sheet music. Grab one of the edges of the paper and wrap it around your gift, making a crease along the edge it covers.
Follow the gift and bring up another side of the wrapping paper. Each time you cover a side crease along the edges to make everything crisp and neat.
Once you get to the final stage of wrapping, you should have an opening in the wrap. Everything you have left over can be inserted into the gap with the use of tape or scissors.
To finish off the gift, we used a strip of paper to wrap around the gift, securing it in place with glue or tape. We then placed two different sizes of our square flower decorations.
We'll be releasing new gift wrapping tutorial video out every Friday, and other origami tutorials out every Tuesday in the run up to Christmas.
