CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING - DAY 16 - WREATH DECORATION

CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING - DAY 16 - WREATH DECORATION

Today we're going to be making an origami wreath decoration.

Materials you need for this are:

  • 8 sheets of square paper - we 7x7cm in dark and light green colours
  • Glue

Step 1: Fold you paper in half vertically, unfold then fold it in half horizontally and unfold.

Step 2: Now fold it into quarters both ways and unfold.

Step 3: Flip the paper around and fold it diagonally both ways then unfold.

Step 4: Begin to fold the four corners in creating a diamond shape in the middle.

Step 5: Flip the paper over and push in the four corners to flatten the paper into a square shape.

Step 6: The square shape has four square sections on it. For each section, fold in the edges of the top layer to create triangle shapes then unfold them.

Step 7: For one section, lift up the fold you just made and flatten it to the side and fold in the edge.

Step 8: Then fold it back on to itself and tuck in the coloured in section. Then flatten it back to the other side.

Repeat this for all the sections making sure the folds are pointed the same way (in a clockwise motion), then repeat for the other seven sheets of paper.

Step 9: Glue in one of the edges of one paper and tuck it into the other, repeat this until you have a circle and you're done!

We'll be releasing new gift wrapping tutorial video out every Friday, and other origami tutorials out every Tuesday in the run up to Christmas.
