EASIEST WAY TO MAKE A 5 INTERSECTING TETRAHEDRA
To make an origami 5 Intersecting Tetrahedra you need 30 pieces of paper. These can be made any size with a ration of 1:3, I used 5x15cm paper to make a model measuring around 16.5cm.
Instructions on how to make a paper strip unit. You will need to make 30 units total, for a first time maker, I would recommend using 5 different colours with 6 units each.
I've used these 5 colours to make it easier to follow along to.
Starting with the red, use 6 of the same colour pieces to make a tetrahedron.
I stuck a small piece of paper on the corner of the tetrahedra as the indicator. This will be the top corner.
Then use 3 of the paper strip units to create a 3 pieces unit. Repeat this for the remaining four colours. I would recommend gluing the joints for all 3 pieces units at this step, this will help to keep the stability when add them to the structure.
Add the first 3 pieces unit to the tetrahedron as showing on photo. Complete the second tetrahedron by adding further 3 units from the same colour. By checking from the side, the second tetrahedron (yellow) should be on the left.
Add the second 3 piece unit to the structure.
These 3 images are from the back angle showing how to add further 3 units.
The third 3 pieces unit is added to the junction of 3 existing colours. Keep checking each strip is in the right position.
Add the last 3 pieces unit to the junction of red, yellow and green (or in the order of the first, second and the fourth colour you used).
Check the images from different angle to make sure the purple strips are in the right position. Then add the rest 3 units to complete.
