CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING - DAY 15 - WRAPPING A CYLINDRICAL GIFT
Share
Today we're going to be showing you how to wrap a cylindrical gift. Video tutorial at the end of the blog.
Materials you need for this are:
- Wrapping paper
- Tape
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pen or pencil
- Ribbon or string
Optional:
- Another sheet of wrapping paper
- Origami decorations - we used lucky stars
Step 1: Make sure your wrapping paper can wrap all the way around the gift, then measure out the gifts length and diameter.
Step 2: On your wrapping paper, mark out half the length of the diameter, the length of the gift and half the diameter length again. Cut off any excess paper.
Step 3: Divide the top and bottom sections into 10 and fold then unfold. In the image I have drawn on lines where we're going to fold. The dotted line is for a mountain fold and the straight lines are valley folds.
Step 4: Fold along each line on both the top and the bottom.
Step 5: Wrap your gift in the centre of the paper and tape in place.
Step 6: Push down on the top and fold over where I marked the black V shape.
Step 7: Repeat this until you get to the end, put tape in place and tuck the last piece into the first then press down firmly to secure. Repeat on the other side and you're done. We added a few optional extras to make your gift extra special.
Optional:
Step 9: Wrap your gift in another colour wrapping paper to give it more detail.
Step 10: Add on origami decorations on top, we decided to add some origami lucky stars.
We'll be releasing new gift wrapping tutorial video out every Friday, and other origami tutorials out every Tuesday in the run up to Christmas.
