PLEATED GIFT WRAPPING
Share
Make your gift wrapping extra special by adding pleated folds, they're super easy to do and you don't need any extra materials!
You can also add a special ribbon that can be made from fabric, velvet, silk, paper or masking tape!
Start off by taking a sheet of large paper to wrap your item in. For a thin item such as a book, make sure the ends are long enough to wrap over the front.
Make sure one side can cover the book half way of the front and the other side can cover all the way.
The excess paper over the front will be the same width as the pleated area.
Divide the pleated area into half.
Then again into quarters.
The finally into eights.
Time to fold the pleats:
Once you're happy with the pleats, turn the paper over.
Secure the back of the pleats with tape.
Time to wrap your item:
Now it's time to add any extras! You can make a band around the gift using any material.
To make an easy ribbon, get another piece of material and loop it.
Flatten the loop and create two more going in opposite directions.
Wrap a thinner piece of material around the ribbon and secure in place.
You can also make twisted pleats by flattening them in different directions.
