CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING - DAY 21 - COLOUR POP FAN PLEAT

CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING - DAY 21 - COLOUR POP FAN PLEAT

Today we're going to be showing you how to create a colour pop fan pleat.

Materials you need for this are:

  • 2 sheets of wrapping paper
  • Double sided tape
  • A ruler

The main wrapping paper sheet needs to be high enough to cover the gift and long enough that you can wrap it around the gift with an excess of about the length of the gift, this will be used to create the pleating.

Step 1: Wrap your gift, creasing along the lines and marking out the excess paper you have.

Step 2: Make a fold to section off the excess paper.

Step 3: Make pleats inside of the section.

Step 4: Fold in the top edge of the pleated section.

Step 5: Measure out your second piece of wrapping paper to fit along the edge of the pleated section, fold it in half then tape it on top.

Step 6: On the last pleat, use a ruler to measure diagonally from the bottom to the top, then fold it in to give it a triangular look.

Step 7: Fold as shown.

Step 8: Apply tape to the back of the pleat, then begin to wrap your gift.

Step 9: Tuck in the edges of the top and bottom ends, fold them to the back and you're done!
